The account behind the walkthrough

The FxPro account in plain terms

The apps this site reads are published under the FxPro name or sit beside it. This page states only what the broker itself publishes in the text this site could read, and what the rules of the reader's country say about sending money abroad. It is a factual page about the account, not a sales page.

What a first-time buyer is actually agreeing to

When you open a position with FxPro, you are not buying an asset. You are entering a contract for difference, a CFD. The position is a contract on a price, and nothing is delivered. You do not hold the underlying asset in your own name, and you have no right to it. The profit or loss is the difference between the price when you opened the contract and the price when you close it, multiplied by the size of the position.

That difference can move for or against you. CFDs are leveraged, which means the position can be larger than the money you put down. Leverage increases both gains and losses, and a small price move can wipe out the margin you posted. FxPro states that every client has negative balance protection, but that does not change the nature of the contract. Before real money moves, read the client agreement to see which entity your account is with and what rules that entity applies.

The difference between a practice account's comfort and a real account's pressure

A demo account runs on the same platforms and uses virtual money. It costs nothing to open and asks for no verification. The screens are the same, but the pressure is not. A practice order can be placed and forgotten; a real order is followed by the fear of losing money. The demo teaches the mechanics of the ticket, the chart and the history. It does not teach the feeling of watching a real loss grow.

A live account adds steps the demo never asks for. Identity verification comes first, and it is required before funding. Funding itself takes time and may involve third-party banks or payment providers that charge their own fees. The leverage allowed to a retail client depends on the entity the account is opened with, and that entity depends on the client's country of residence. The demo account does not prepare you for any of these, because it does not have to.

What to check on the register before real money moves

FxPro states that it operates through several regulated entities and that the entity an account is opened with depends on the client's country of residence. It also states it holds South African authorisation through one of its entities. The client agreement names the entity the account is with, and that is the name to check on the relevant register. The register entry tells you the entity is authorised, but it does not tell you what the account will cost or how the platform will behave.

Before funding a live account, read the client agreement for the entity named in your account. Check the leverage allowed to a retail client, the funding methods and their processing times, and the fees that third parties may charge. FxPro states that it charges no fee for deposits or withdrawals itself, but banks and payment providers may charge their own. The list of funding methods is shown by country only inside the client account, so open the account and log in before you decide how to fund it.

FxPro's published group licences are issued by the Financial Conduct Authority in the United Kingdom, the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission and the Securities Commission of The Bahamas. FxPro states it is also authorised by South Africa's Financial Sector Conduct Authority through one of its entities; confirm the entity in your client agreement and on the FSCA register. CFDs are leveraged and can lose money quickly. Nothing on this site is investment advice.

The trading account

A first look is not a first trade

What these pages read is the store's side: the listing. Opening a live account is a separate step with the broker, with identity checks and rules about sending money abroad that sit outside any app. Read the broker page before you decide, and do not trade with money you cannot afford to lose.
